Dear Church Friends--
Someone once said that Easter
morning is all about running feet. The breathless Mary Magdalene races
back to tell the apostles that Jesus Christ was no longer in the tomb.
The younger John outruns the older fisherman, Peter, to see for themselves
if the story could be true. The disciples in Emmaus leaves the
unfinished meal and coming with haste through the night to share their good
news and joy.
All these years later, can you
and I still get excited about the Good News of Easter as a celebration of
that hope? Of course, we’ll be celebrating the hope for all our
today’s and our eternity that Easter represents on April 4th.
Not all of us, for on reason or
another can run to tell others about the Good News of Easter morning.
Fortunately, this church recognized that in its vision to have a church
building that encourages all people—including those with handicapping
conditions—to witness to their Easter faith.
On April 18th – the
Third Sunday of Easter – we will close each of our worship services that
day with a dedication of the new Elevator in the Fellowship Hall. Many
of you have generously given to the Elevator project – with your prayers,
your financial gifts, as well as your labor.
The elevator project was
originally estimated to cost $107,000 but because of the loving work of a
number of members and friends of the church, the total spent was about
$95,000!
Christ has risen! He as risen
indeed!
May one and all have a blessed Easter!
See you in church,
Pastor
Scott
